Android Build an Interactive Story App Intents and Multiple Activities Putting Data in an Intent

Syntax error

We've updated our LaunchActivity to include a fuel level (fuelLevel) for the spacecraft. This value needs to be passed to the FlightActivity. Add the code to pass this value along via the Intent. Use the key "FUEL_LEVEL".

I've tried different things and ways to solve but it still says I have a syntax error in my code.

LaunchActivity.java
import android.content.Intent;
import android.os.Bundle;
import android.view.View;
import android.widget.Button;

public class LaunchActivity extends Activity {

  public Button mLaunchButton;
  public int mFuelLevel;

  @Override
  protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
    super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
    setContentView(R.layout.activity_launch);

    // mFuelLevel is set elsewhere.
    // Code ommitted for brevity!

    mLaunchButton = (Button)findViewById(R.id.launchButton);
    mLaunchButton.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {
      @Override
      public void onClick(View v) {
        Intent intent = new Intent(LaunchActivity.this, FlightActivity.class);
        intent.putExtra("FUEL_LEVEL",mFuelLevel);
        startActivity(intent);
      }
      }
    });
  }
}

You changed the variable name from fuelLevel to mFuelLevel. In the code you'll find:

  // fuelLevel is set elsewhere.
 // Code ommitted for brevity!

You don't have access to this omitted code to change it there as well. Keep the original variable name(s) and you should pass.

It looks like you have an extra curly-brace that is causing the error

        startActivity(intent);
      }
      } // <- this is the extra one
    });
