Suggestinatory.py

This is my code for the challenge:

def suggest(product_idea): if product_idea < 3: raise ValueError("Product ideas must be more than 3 characters") return product_idea + "inator"

My error is in line 2. How do I specify characters?

suggestinator.py
def suggest(product_idea):
    if product_idea < 3:
         raise ValueError("Product ideas must be more than 3 characters")
    return product_idea + "inator"

Hey Philip,

Your on the right track. For this to work, you will need to check the length of the string being passed in. Remember, in python, strings have a length method len(). This is what you will use to check to see if it is less than 3. In the if conditional just use this method on the variable product_idea and you're all good.

Nice work so far! :) :dizzy:
