Design Illustrator Foundations Creating an Icon Pen Tools

Stuck creating the curve on the Moon Icon from 6:46 onwards

Forgive me for being very very slow, but I'm completely stumped in Pen Tools video from 6:46 onwards. I do what Mat says but Illustrator does something completely different on my screen.

"... And now while holding alt, delete the bezier curve for the next point, select in the middle [but he's not selecting in the middle - or is he?, click and drag out, and release"

I follow these instructions, but the curve I'm creating is very different, as can be seen in the screenshot

"And then again connect those final points [what final points??]"

It's probably my fault rather than the instructions, but I'm very very confused.

Send halp ;_;

Thx ~Jay

Nevermind, done it! Saw Mat do things with his mouse that he wasn't narrating in the video and fixed it.

Hey Jay; I know you got it sorted but check this out for more practice with the pen tool. http://bezier.method.ac/

Awesome Tool, been playing with it for a while!

Awesome, thanks, I'll save it to my favourites.

I can see why everyone is struggling with this. Trying to create the crescent of the moon is really difficult.

I tried that Bezier game and really struggled with the heart shape too. I tried to do it in Illustrator too but the commands don't seem to work and an error "Please use the convert anchor point tool on an anchor point of a path" comes up. Can anyone even convert that into anything that makes sense?
