stocks are basically the same as equity as they both take some owner ship company ??? i am i missing something?

17,730 PointsAccording to the organization of the company, equity is a measurement of how much stock someone has in a company. Equity can also just be a measurement of any asset owned in a company. So basically stock would be a single item vs equity which is a measurement of those items that you own in a company.
