Set the "Portfolio" link to navigate to the section of the page with the id portfolio. (I'm not understanding my error)

I'm typing the answer to this question as: <li><a href="/#portfolio"></a></li>

Any advice as to why this code is not working properly?

Hi,

try it without the /. You shouldn't need it for anchor id tags

You want your reference to be relative to the current document, not the root. So don't prefix it with a slash ("/").

Ah, I see. I thought I had to add the / to link it back to index.html. Removing the / worked, thank you both so much!
