Select element in an input box

Im trying to put a select element into an input box in project three, how do i position the select element inside of the box.

<label for="state">State</label> <input type="text" id="state" name="fname" placeholder="Choose State" list="States"/>

       <select id="States">

           <option>Alabama</option>
           <option>Alaska</option>

  </select>

A select element is itself a type of "input box". It wouldn't make sense to put it inside one of another type.

Perhaps it would help to provide a link to the course page you are working with.
