Relative Layout - text fields keep going to upper lefthand corner

I'm just learning android and going through the first tutorial and the teacher says to replace constraint layout with relative layout. After doing so, the text fields I place on the design page keep pulling into the upper left hand corner. I've found I can code the XML for them to stay put, but I would like to be able to drag and drop like in the tutorial. Pasted below is my XML code. Did I do something wrong?
