regrouping functions

I can't figure out why this doesn't work. I have tried every possible configuration I can think of

shopping_list.py 
def show_help():
    # print out instructions on how to use the app
    print("What should we pick up at the store?")
    print("""
Enter 'DONE' to stop adding items.
Enter 'HELP' for this help.
Enter 'SHOW' to see your current list.
""")

def show_list(shopping_list):
    # print out the list
    print("Here's your list:")

    for item in shopping_list:
        print(item)

def add_to_list(shopping_list, new_item):
    # add new items to our list
    shopping_list.append(new_item)
    print("Added {}. List now has {} items.".format(new_item, len(shopping_list)))
    return shopping_list

    show_help()

# make a list to hold onto our items
shopping_list = []

while True:
    # ask for new items

Move everything after and including call of show_help() function inside main() function.

Like mentioned, everything should be inside a function.

You indentation suggests only line 22 is in main function.

here is the code...

Thxs for your answer, the indentation point is well taken. However when i change all the indentation to the same as yours, I still get the same error message. did you try your code? does it wor

thxs Krishna, It works now. I am convinced I it wrote exactly as you did before and it didn't work, as if it were some treehouse problem. but it works now, thanks. I learned about the indentation aspect- thanks
