The code checker is telling me that I am not referencing the variable favorite_color correctly, but I am not sure what I am doing wrong.
favorite_color = ('green')
print('The color favorite_color is my favorite!')

17,793 Pointsyour print statement will literally print the string, so it will print favorite_color instead of the variable value green. There are a few ways to print the variable value one is to use .format()
also your favorite_color variable doesn't need to be a tuple, it can just be a string
favorite_color = 'green'
print('The color {} is my favorite!'.format(favorite_color))
