Python Shell vs Shell vs REPL ???

these three terms is kinda of confusing. Could someone briefly explain what are the main differences between them, Please

I would recommend going to Python's website and download the IDLE which is a simple text editor that you can write Python is and then run it. If you are going to be doing bigger project and such I would recommend PyCharm

I just tried looking that up. Someone referred to REPL the dark side. Sounds ominous.
