Possible bug in first_class.py

The code which fails in treehouse runs OK in IDLE.

first_class.py
class Student:
    name = "Your Name"
    grade = 60

    def praise(self):
        return "You inspire me, {}".format(self.name)

    def reassurance(self):
        return "Chin up, {}. You'll get it next time!".format(self.name)

    def feedback(self):
        if self.grade > 50:
            return self.praise()
        else:
            return self.reassurance()

Hi there! You're close and yes, your code works outside of the challenge. But remember Treehouse is making an instance of this class and running your code. In your class, you've set a property of grade, but this was not asked for by the challenge. The feedback method should take self and the grade without grade being a property on the class. Also, the checker is very likely checking separate calls to this method and sending in different values. Your test code only has one value for grade which is overwriting what Treehouse is trying to send.

Hope this helps, but let me know if you're still stuck! :sparkles:

Thanks Jennifer, that did clear up the problem.
