pliz help

I tiried this code in both style.css and index.html withous a pass, in which and on which line should i write what

I think that the problem could be that you haven't added a semicolon at the end of your text align.

body { text-align: center; }

You code looks incomplete. By the time you get to adding the div style, you should have already passed the parts where you add body, p, and header styles. What you have there looks correct, but you should also still have all the styles from the previous three steps.

Your index.html should not be changed at all and your style.css should look like this:

/* Complete the challenge by writing CSS below */

body { // THIS WAS STEP 1
  text-align: center;
}

p { // THIS WAS STEP 2
  color: lightslategrey;
}

header { // THIS WAS STEP 3
  background-color: orange;
