If you want to close your HTML tag, you use the same syntax as an opening tag plus forward slash "/"

<h1>My headline</h1>
<p>My paragraph</p>

However, there are some exceptions that do not require closing tags:

<img src="directory_path/img.jpg" alt="Picture description">
<input type="text" name="First Name" placeholder="First Name">
