PDO code creating new db files.

Strange but the code following is creating whatever i name the database, e.g dataaabase.db or anything, why is it doing this? It is not something to create.

    try{
    $db = new PDO("sqlite:".__DIR__."/dataabase.db");
    var_dump($db);
    }catch(Exception $e){
        echo "It didn't work";
        exit;
    }
