Hey all,
I am not sure what I am doing wrong with part 2. About out of ideas.
Button loadPuppiesButton = (Button) findViewById(R.id.puppiesButton);
String buttonLabel = "";
loadPuppiesButton.setText("LOAD");
Resources resources=getResources();
buttonLabel=resources.getString(R.string.morePuppies);
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<resources>
<string name="morePuppies">See More Puppies</string>
</resources>

You have set the morePuppies
string resource already. Now we want to use that to assign its value into buttonLabel
. You can do this by using the getString()
method and passing in the resource id as a parameter. That parameter would look like R.string.morePuppies
, the name you set in the first task.
Use the existing line that initialises the buttonLabel
string with a blank string. All that looks like:
String buttonLabel = getString(R.string.morePuppies);
I hope that helps,
Steve.
