This is the code I had for the challenge. I was confused when this happened to me to however I think its because what your doing is overriding a function. If you do this challenge in Xcode and override the function when you create the constant someDoctor then create an instance of Doctor. Xcode autocompletes it to include the firstName parameter even though our new function returns a string where thats taken out. So your not affecting the initializer your changing the fullName method.

class Person {
    let firstName: String
    let lastName: String

    init(firstName: String, lastName: String) {
        self.firstName = firstName
        self.lastName = lastName
    }

    func fullName() -> String {
        return "\(firstName) \(lastName)"
    }
}

class Doctor: Person {
    override func fullName() -> String {
        return "Dr. \(lastName)"
    }
}

let someDoctor = Doctor(firstName: "Elliot", lastName: "Alderson")
print(someDoctor)
