JavaScript JavaScript Loops, Arrays and Objects Tracking Data Using Objects The Student Record Search Challenge Solution

Nothing shows up on page after search

Can't seem to figure out why the results searched aren't showing up on the page. Looked at everything but having trouble spotting the issue.

var student;
var report = '';
var search;

function print(message) {
  var outputDiv = document.getElementById('output');
  outputDiv.innerHTML = message;
}

function getStudentReport(student){
    var report = '<h3>Name: ' + student.name + '</h3>';
    report += '<p>Track: ' + student.track + '</p>';
    report += '<p>Achievements: ' + student.achievements + '</p>';
    report += '<p>track: ' + student.points + '</p>';
    return report;

}

while(true) {
    search = prompt("Search student records: Type a name [Jody] (or type 'quit' to exit)");
    if(search === null || search.toLowerCase() === 'QUIT');{
    break;
    }
    for (var i = 0; i < students.length; i++){
        student = students[i];
        if(student.name === search){
            message = getStudentReport(student);
            print(message);

        }

    }
}

Looks like you just had an erroneous semicolon in your first conditional that was causing the error. Also, if you're going to use toLowerCase() be sure to set it equal to a lowercase string.

    if(search === null || search.toLowerCase() === 'quit') {

Oh wow, Idk how I missed that, Thanks a lot!

No problem. Sometimes it just takes another set of eyes.
