JavaScript JavaScript Loops, Arrays and Objects Tracking Data Using Objects Access and Set Object Properties

Not sure what I need to do. Where is this related in what video?

Add a new property -- country -- to newYork. Don't change the original object, just add this new property using a = sign to assign the country property to USA.

script.js
var newYork = {
  population: 100,
  latitude: '40.7127 N',
  longitude: '74.0059 W'
};

newYork.population = 8.406e6;

You can do this using the same technique you used in the first part of the challenge.

newYork.country = 'USA';

Edit - To clarify, setting a property will 'create' it if there is no property by that name.

Ah, duh.. forgot the 'USA'

Ran into the same issue. Just add the ' ' to make the value a string so it responds correctly.

-- country -- What are the dashes for in the country? Is it to say that it's property of an object?

i cant do it, it wont let me do newYork.country = 'USA';

var newYork = { population: 100, latitude: '40.7127 N', longitude: '74.0059 W' };

newYork.population = 8.406e6;

//places a new poperty to newYork assigned country

newYork.country = "USA";
