Android Build a Simple Android App (2014) Creating the Screen Layout Setting Colors

Not sure how to change the background color of the whole relative layout

Im not sure how to change the color of the whole relative layout of this android app. Can anyone help?

Change the value of the android:background attribute in the relative layout (it's currently set to @android:color/white).

It doesn't work. I don't know what to do anymore

Thanks! It turns out I had done that part correct'y, but had accidentally added a number to the end of my code in the TextView ha.
