Not able to export an .sql database file with MAMP — it just opens a new page with code.

I feel like I am endlessly here bugging you guys. I am so sorry. But it appears my MAMP is a little different than in the video.

I went to export under the data base I was using for the course, followed the instructions Zac has on the video (custom, select all, etc.) and then hit "Go" (or "Export," whatever the button reads at the bottom of all the choices. It simply ran a page of code and didn't download any file. I tried to CTRL click to save, but that option wasn't there. This is all I got (and this is my first attempt at markdown, so I might not even get the screenshot right):

Dang, I figured it out. It somehow reverted to "save as text output" instead of a file. My mousepad has been jumping a bit lately, so it may have been an inadvertent slip there.

when you export see that you have the option to export to a file: http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/smb-technologist/import-and-export-databases-using-phpmyadmin/

simply select all the text inside the textbox and save it to a textfile with the .sql extension :)

You'd think that would work, right? But that's what I'm saying... that option is not there to save. I select all, then CTRL + click (I'm on a Macbook Pro) and it immediately deselects all the text and, additionally, there is not "Save as..." option.

Stumped. According to the video, it should have automatically downloaded to my computer as an .sql file. Neither route is working on my version of MAMP (from the online page).

buy a new one ;)
