Has anyone else come across the issue where they don't have a public folder on filezilla? I was able to log in successfully, and find wordpress, but seem to only have the main three folders showing up.

Treehouse TeacherHi Lawrence McBride -- hosting companies can have different configuration setups, so when you log in with an FTP client like Filezilla, you might see different folders than those shown in the video for this course. The customer support folks at the hosting company are the best people to contact to get answers to specific problems.
However, in the meantime, can you tell us what you do see? What folders are there: if you can share a screenshot that would be even better! In some cases, you might get placed directly into the "root" folder -- the main folder -- for the web site That's the folder where you would put your website -- for example, the WordPress files directly. That may or may not be the case for you, so we'll need more details in order to point you in the right direction.

39 PointsI thought about doing that the the videos for the Wordpress Developer courses seem to primarily use Filezilla. It can really deter the learning process when you can't file along and you have to try and find what the videos are showing and convert that from Filezilla to CyberDuck. Especially as I already tried downloading CyberDuck and it has a completely different look and set up.
This evening I ended up ditching webhostingforstudents.com and switching over to bluehost.com who were able to actual assistance from the host setup standpoint so I now have everything set up and can finally resume my courses.

Treehouse TeacherGlad you were able to finally get set up with a good hosting company. I've heard good things about bluehost.com. I'm glad their customer service was able to help you out quickly.
Best of luck. I believe we have other courses that use Cyberduck as well. While the two programs looks different they ultimately do the same thing -- transfer files to a web server -- so once you've got it working in CyberDuck you should be good to go from now on.

Treehouse TeacherLawrence McBride it sounds like maybe you're actually in the public_html folder already? Have you tried putting all of the Wordpress files into that folder and following the rest of the installation instructions -- that is, going to the website/wp-admin folder and following the instructions? If so, what happens?
An alternative solution is to download CyberDuck (which is free) and follow along with the instructions provided by your web hosting company.
