14,615 PointsMy BroadcastReceiver isn't receiving anything!
I have two projects: One for the receiver and one for the broadcaster
Here is the code for the receiver
SongReceiver.java
package com.teamtreehouse.customintenttester;
import android.content.BroadcastReceiver;
import android.content.Context;
import android.content.Intent;
public class SongReceiver extends BroadcastReceiver {
@Override
public void onReceive(Context context, Intent intent) {
intent.setClass(context, MainActivity.class);
intent.setFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_NEW_TASK);
context.startActivity(intent);
}
}
Here's the manifest
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
package="com.teamtreehouse.customintenttester">
<application
android:allowBackup="true"
android:icon="@mipmap/ic_launcher"
android:label="@string/app_name"
android:roundIcon="@mipmap/ic_launcher_round"
android:supportsRtl="true"
android:theme="@style/AppTheme">
<activity android:name=".MainActivity">
<intent-filter>
<action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN"/>
<category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER"/>
</intent-filter>
<intent-filter>
<action android:name="com.teamtreehouse.intent.action.SHARE_SONG"/>
<category android:name="android.intent.category.DEFAULT"/>
</intent-filter>
</activity>
<receiver android:name=".SongReceiver">
<intent-filter>
<action android:name="com.teamtreehouse.intent.action.SHARE_SONG"/>
<category android:name="android.intent.category.DEFAULT"/>
</intent-filter>
</receiver>
</application>
</manifest>
Here's the broadcaster
package com.teamtreehouse.musicmachine;
import android.content.Intent;
import android.os.Bundle;
import android.support.design.widget.Snackbar;
import android.support.v7.app.AppCompatActivity;
import android.util.Log;
import android.view.Menu;
import android.view.MenuItem;
import android.widget.CheckBox;
import android.widget.CompoundButton;
import android.widget.RelativeLayout;
import android.widget.TextView;
import com.teamtreehouse.musicmachine.models.Song;
public class DetailActivity extends AppCompatActivity {
private Song mSong;
public static final String SHARE_SONG = "com.teamtreehouse.intent.action.SHARE_SONG";
@Override
public boolean onCreateOptionsMenu(Menu menu) {
// Inflate the menu; this adds items to the action bar if it is present.
getMenuInflater().inflate(R.menu.detail, menu);
return true;
}
@Override
public boolean onOptionsItemSelected(MenuItem item) {
int itemId = item.getItemId();
if (itemId == R.id.action_share) {
if (mSong != null) {
Intent customIntent = new Intent(SHARE_SONG);
customIntent.putExtra(MainActivity.EXTRA_SONG, mSong);
sendBroadcast(customIntent);
}
}
return super.onOptionsItemSelected(item);
}
}
I deleted the irrelevant code in the classes
