Modifying Elements Code Challenge Stuck

I'm stuck on the code challenge for the Mpdifying Elements Code Challenge. Am I missing something here? It's asking me to "Get the value of the text input element, and save it to the variable linkName.

index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
    <head>
        <title>DOM Manipulation</title>
    </head>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" />
    <body>
        <div id="content">
            <label>Link Name:</label>
            <input type="text" id="linkName">
            <a id="link" href="https://teamtreehouse.com"></a>
        </div>
        <script src="app.js"></script>
    </body>
</html>
app.js
let linkName = document.getElementById('linkName').textContent;

Try using const instead of let.

Not sure if that'll work but I'm positive :)

Good luck! ~alex

let link = document.getElementById('link'); link.textContent = linkName;

Hope this helps :)

I was overthinking this one. The answer:

let linkName = document.getElementById('linkName').value;
