menu string its not ok?

is there another way to make it a string?

banana.py 
available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white"
sundaes = available.split(";")
menu = "Our available flavors are: {}.".join("-")

#generally it is better to break the task, for our own help.
#first - I want the string inside the format
#menu = "Our available flavors are: {}.".format()
#second - I want the string to be displayed, after it is made up of string from list
