Python Python Basics Functions and Looping Raise an Exception

me and my friend can't seem to understand what to do with Raise an Exception. please help

Raising errors can be tough! First, it's asking us to raise the ValueError if the length of the product idea is less than 3 characters.

How can we determine if the product idea entered is less than three characters? If the product idea is less than three characters, raise the ValueError! If it's not, return the product idea.
