Yea the whole idea with this challenge is to just demonstrate you have a basic understanding of how variables should be used and you were most of the way there, obviously. :)

This passes all three:

let firstName = "Theodore";
let lastName = "Poland";
let role = 'developer';
var msg = firstName + " " + lastName +": " + role.toUpperCase();
