JavaScript Express Basics Serving Static Files in Express Adding Static Assets to the App

Link to assets in teachers notes not initializing download of zip file.

There is a link in the teacher's notes to be able to download the set of starting asset file for this stage. When I click it (using the most current version of Chrome) there is a black flash on the page like it's initializing the download, but nothing else happens. I can retrieve the public folder via the project files in the download section (S6V3 "Completed"), but this link is certainly much more convenient to access if working properly.

Not a fix but I've found a bit of a workaround: if you right click and "open link in new tab" or "open link in new window" then the download will begin.

Have you emailed help@teamtreehouse.com with this issue? If you're the first to report it you might get an exterminator badge 😁

Hey Cameron Childres !

I figured making a comment on here would suffice compared to email, but I will go ahead and do that!

I did Ctrl+click to open a new tab and the same result occured.

I appreciate the response!

Hey Tyler Pfledderer, it looks like it's been fixed. When I go to this video, clicking the link now initiates the download.

It's an http/https thing. Our app has probably thousands of links, and when one hasn't been updated to https, Chrome doesn't like it.

Thanks for reaching out about it. Oh, and in the future, whether you post about something like this here or email about it, go ahead and include a link to the location of the problem, pretty please. Thanks again, Tyler.
