HTML HTML Forms Organizing Forms Fieldsets and Legends

Legends or Labels?

Why use legends? why not use the label attribute? To me the legend attribute is the same as the label attribute. Any thoughts?

Legend should be used to describe group of fields (fieldset) and label should be used to describe only one field. Also most browser display legend tag as display: block and label is displayed as display: inline. So there is difference.

A legend is a caption for a fieldset (spec). A label is a caption for a bit of UI (spec).

So, a legend is for a group of things while a label is for a specific thing.

Thank you for your replies gentlemen! So browsers display them differently.. Nick didn't quite get that across.
