It says states is not defined when states was already given a value. What did i do wrong?

states=[ 'ACTIVE' ['red','green','blue'] 'CANCELLED', 'FINISHED', 5, states.remove(5)

lists.py
states = [
    'ACTIVE',
    ['red', 'green', 'blue'],
    'CANCELLED',
    'FINISHED',
    5,
   states.remove("blue")
]

The challenge is asking you to remove the last item from the list states, not the list of colors inside of that list, so you need to remove the number 5. Also, make sure when you write the code to remove it, you're doing it outside of the brackets! It needs to be its own line of code.

states = [
    'ACTIVE',
    ['red', 'green', 'blue'],
    'CANCELLED',
    'FINISHED',
    5,
]
states.remove(5)

Hope this helps :)
