It looks like Task 1 is no longer passing

I just add total on line 5. what am i do wrong?

in your code, you made the new total variable, but you never assigned anything to it. The challenge is asking you to assign the sum of current_count and upcoming_releases together. In other words, add both these variables in the new total variable you made:

current_count = 14
planned = 5
upcoming_releases = 2
del planned
total = current_count + upcoming_releases

It looks like the challenge is asking for you to assign the sum of current_count and upcoming_releases to a variable named total. 

total = current_count + upcoming_releases
