Isn't "inputValue = document.querySelector('a').href" a correct answer?

When testing on Webstorm it seems to fill the input text field with the URL, but it is not working in the Treehouse environment.

All you are doing is reassigning inputValue. The task wants you to set the text content of the a tag to be the value stored in the variable inputValue - meaning inputValue will be on the right hand side. Try:

document.getElementById('link').textContent = inputValue
