If i didn't use work spaces would you just do the same shown in this video in a Terminal?

Yes, you're correct! The Console is equivalent to the Terminal.

650 PointsSimply put, YES. Terminal is in your Computer's hard drive, search for it in the "Spotlight" or "Finder". The console is through Treehouse, but yes, they serve the same function.
