Is it better to learn PHP before heading into Wordpress Development?

I am currently on the Wordpress Development track and I was wondering if it would be better if I knew some PHP prior to going in.

I do have some background in CSS and HTML.

Let me know if you had a hard time learning intermediate level courses without additional coding experiences.

I like structural learning more than "hands-on first and understand later" learning.

Thanks!

I'm almost done with the WordPress Development track and I am going to do the PHP track next, but I'm I wish I had taken some of the PHP track first now that I'm where I'm at. There is also a course on the WordPress Development track called From Bootstrap to WordPress which, if you're like me and you don't have any background with Bootstrap, you may find it better to stop and do at least the first half of the Framework Foundations course first. Just my two cents.

Nice! Yeah, I'm on that same track right now but I just felt it wasn't right for me unless I took some initiative to take additional courses in PHP. Thank you so much for your feedback! I'll also check out the Framework Foundation!

Thanks, Jason!

In that case, I should brush up on my current skills before heading in for the development stages for the Wordpress. :)
