I'm on the A Record video in the DNS series. Where did teacher get the IP address from?

I'm wanting to understand the DNS and A Record because I have a few different domain names that I need to finish webpages and get them live, but I don't know where the IP address comes from. Is that my IP address at home? Can it be same for multiple websites I create and manage? Thx

Do you really want to do hosting at home? Normally, you would use a hosting provider to store your webpages and provide the service of delivering them. And in that case, the provider handles all the IP concerns and you (and your visitors) only need the domain name to contact the site.

A lot of services can both register the domain name and provide hosting, and they will often have a "package" that includes both and gives you a bit of a discount over ordering them separately (some even throw in the domain registration for free).
