I'm not sure why it isn't validating my media query

I'm sure the syntax is correct for setting the media query to activate at 1020px, I'm not sure why it isn't allowing that part to pass

style.css
/* Complete the challenge by writing CSS below */

@media (max-width 1020px) {
  background-color: tomato;
  span, h2: white;
}
index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <title>Lake Tahoe</title>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="page.css">
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css">
  </head>
  <body>
    <header id="top" class="main-header">
      <span class="title">Journey Through the Sierra Nevada Mountains</span>
      <h1 class="main-heading">Lake Tahoe, California</h1>
    </header>

        <div class="primary-content">
            <p class="intro">
                Lake Tahoe is one of the most breathtaking attractions located in California. It's home to a number of ski resorts, summer outdoor recreation, and tourist attractions. Snow and skiing are a significant part of the area's reputation.
            </p>
            <a class="callout" href="#more">Find out more</a>
        </div><!-- End .primary-content -->
  </body>
</html>

Hi Louis,

Don't forget the max-width colon after it. I also have noticed that you haven't defined any selectors in which you need to define the main-header class to perform the styles. Here is the correct syntax below for you to compare.

@media (max-width: 1020px) {
  .main-header {
    background-color: tomato;
    color: white;
  }
}

Looks like I wasn't as sure as I thought, haha. Thank you!
