If the files are in the correct folders, why do I need to include the "package com.teamtreehouse;"

So, I have all my files correctly. My program runs, my question is, why do I need to state "package com.teamreehouse;" if the files are already grouped in the right folder? Isn't a package a folder?

The video is showing you how to package and import. As you get better at coding, not all of your files are going to be in one place, and you'll have to learn how to package them anyway. Right now everything is in Team Treehouse Workspaces, but how is your setup going to look when you move onto other IDEs?
