If developing web pages locally using 'document relative paths', do links still work after uploading to web server?

Does web server understand document relative paths, or should you change them to 'root relative paths before uploading or running on web server?

It's possible (depending on server file structuring), but it'd be best/safer to convert to (root) relative paths.

You can also try setting the <base> to the help if you don't want to convert all of the paths. Check out this blog post for an example.
