i tried hexadecimal and now typed it in , still not going through

It seems like a matter of how the challenge was programmed to test the answers. It works fine if you use a space to separate the colors from the colons:

a:link {
color: darkorange;
}

a:visited {
color: #b22222;
}

a:hover {
color: maroon;
