I should use a while loop, but I AM using it already...

I wrote this code:

while ($row = $results->fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC)) { $item["genres"][] = array($row["genre_id"] => $row["genre"]); } var_dump ($item);

but I get a bummer saying that I should use a while loop to loop through the $result and add elements to the $item array. Isn't it what the code does already?!

Well, you certainly have a "while" loop. :wink:

But I think the challenge wants you to add each of the results individually to the $item["genres"] array instead of constructing a new array out of each one.

Also, you won't need a "var_dump" for the challenge.

That is correct. I added them individually and it worked. Thanks!
