I need to create a new variable named favorite_color and then assign my favorite color to the variable. But not working

So I wrote this line of code first:

favorite_color = black

Then pressed Check Work and I got an AssertionError

So then I wrote:

favorite_color = black print(favorite_color)

I also got an error

I'm stuck here.

using_variables.py
favorite_color = black

Hey Ryan, you have to put quotations around strings. So, you want to say,

favorite_color = "black"

Then for part 2 it wants you to use the variable in a string. like so

print("The color", favorite_color," is my favorite!")

Thanks Phillip! it worked.

Create a new variable named favorite_color. Assign your favorite color to the variable.
