4,744 PointsHi, you are confusing del and remove.
You can either write:
messy = [5,2,8,1,3]
del messy[2]
>>> messy
[5,2,1,3]
Or use remove if you don't know the index of the element you want to delete in your list:
messy = [5,2,8,1,3]
messy.remove(8)
>>>messy
[5,2,1,3]
