JavaScript jQuery Basics Understanding jQuery Events and DOM Traversal Adding New Elements to the DOM

I have tried several solutions to this problem and none have worked.

I used a different help forum and tried all of the answers out and none of them let me move forward.

Have you tried moving your code inside app.js? Currently, your code is being rendered as html, with a closing script tag before it and an opening script tag after it.
