is used in JavaScript to add a comment to the code. Anything after //
on the same line will be ignored.
||
is used in JavaScript when checking if at least one of the conditions before or after it is truthy.
&&
is used in JavaScript to determine if the condition before it and the condition after it are both truthy.
To check if today
is strictly equal to 'Friday'
, use today === 'Friday'
.
If money > 10
is false and it is Friday, it is not the case that money >= 50
and it is Friday, so the first else if
condition will never be true. Switching the order from
if ( money > 10) {
alert("Time to go to the theater.");
} else if ( money >= 50 ) {
alert("Time for a movie and dinner.");
}
to
if ( money >= 50 ) {
alert("Time for a movie and dinner.");
} else if ( money > 10 ) {
alert("Time to go to the theater.");
}
would allow alert("Time for a movie and dinner.");
to be reachable.
