I don't understand why < > was used around email in the following print statement

in the video, Kenneth writes

for match in line.finditer(data):
    print('{first} {last} <{email}>'.format(**.match.groupdict()))

why is there < and > used around email, but not first and last?

Hey Vincent,

The <> around the email address is just aesthetic and part of the string, It doesn't have anything to do with syntax or Python. Kenneth just choose to add the <> to make it look nice when printed to the screen.

So, without them being put there --> "John Doe joe@email.com"

And with them --> "John Doe <joe@email.com>"
