I don't understand the question

I don't understand what this problem is asking.

I have tried changing the OR operator with AND. This doesn't work. I tried changing the today variable to monday. That doesn't work. I tried making the last clause on the bottom work with an AND operator only to have it fail. I am confused on what the problem wants and what i am doing wrong.

script.js
var money = 9;
var today = 'Friday'

if ( money >= 100 && today === 'Friday' ) {
  alert("Time to go to the theater");
} else if ( money >= 50 && today === 'Friday' ) {
  alert("Time for a movie and dinner");
} else if ( money > 10 && today === 'Friday' ) {
  alert("Time for a movie");
} else if ( today !== 'Friday' && money >= 10 ) {
  alert("It's Friday, but I don't have enough money to go out");
} else {
  alert("This isn't Friday. I need to stay home.");
}

Hey Greg,

I'll post the code that passes, then explain why:

var money = 9;
var today = 'Friday'

if ( money >= 100 && today === 'Friday' ) {
  alert("Time to go to the theater");
} else if ( money >= 50 && today === 'Friday' ) {
  alert("Time for a movie and dinner");
} else if ( money > 10 && today === 'Friday' ) {
  alert("Time for a movie");
} else if ( today === 'Friday' ) {
  alert("It's Friday, but I don't have enough money to go out");
} else {
  alert("This isn't Friday. I need to stay home.");
}
  1. The first thing you need to do is change the OR operators (||) to AND operators (&&), since both statements should be true in order to trigger the alerts.

  2. Then you need to change the "today !== 'Friday'" statement to "today === 'Friday'" since the statement will only make sense if it is Friday, and the message is clearly meant to trigger if it's Friday and you're broke.

Good luck with the course!
