After playing with it for awhile, I found that the code needed a "!important" to override the defined font-size lower in the stylesheet. I also changed your "max-width" to "min-width" as it said devices 480px wide and larger.

My code looked like this:

@media screen and (min-width: 480px) { h1 { font-size: 2.5em !important;} }

Hope this helps.

incorrect, that will only come to hinder you when you get to making your own sites... terrible practice. I just completed this question and read on the forums that what i needed to do was to place my code, the correct code just like yours, at the bottom of the css stylesheet. apparently that is were it is where the code is meant to be added in all the challenges... who knew.

Here is my code, same as yours, that was eventually accepted after placing code at the bottom of stylesheet.

@media screen and (min-width: 480px) {
   h1 {
      font-size: 2.5em;
   }
 }

and to op it should be min-width not max-width
