Assuming you're talking about the question regarding "if/else if/else", the "blocks" are the sections of code that are controlled by the conditional expressions and enclosed in braces {}.

For example:

if (/* some test */) {
  // this is a block
} else if (/* some other test */) {
  // this is another block
} // ...etc.
