I do not understand what I am doing wrong in my feedback method.

I did use the argument 'self' in de method declaration and called its attribute 'grade' in the method.

The challenge:

I need you make a new method named feedback. It should take an argument named grade. Methods take arguments just like functions do. You'll still need self in there, though.

If grade is above 50, return the result of the praise method. If it's 50 or below, return the reassurance method's result.

first_class.py

    name = "Your Name"

    def praise(self):
        return "You inspire me, {}".format(self.name)

    def reassurance(self):
        return "Chin up, {}. You'll get it next time!".format(self.name)

    def feedback(self):
        if self.grade > 50:
            praise(self)
        else
            reassurance(self)

You've got the right names, but not quite the right syntax:

            praise(self)    # original
            self.praise()   # corrected

"Grade" isn't stored in the instance, so it needs to be passed in as an argument.

And you're exactly right, without the "else" statement, the reassurance() method will always be called. But it should be "else:" (with a colon).

I now have this code:

def feedback(self, grade): if grade > 50: return self.praise() return self.reassurance()

What I don't understand is why the argument 'grade' is needed, if self is already given as argument and we can access grade through self. Also, if we don't use an else-statement, the reassurance() method will always be called?
