def lent(length):
print("Added! list has {} items".format(length))
return None # <-- default
# The last print statement
print(lent(len(items_list)))
# effectively becomes
print(None)
Two options
Have
lent return the string instead of print it locally
change the last statement into a call to
lent instead of printing the return value.
