Python Development Techdegree Student 197 PointsI can't define result in the problem. thought I did define it a result=(number * number)
def square(number):
result = number * number
return result
square(5)
print("result")

Treehouse Moderator 38,004 Pointshi Shaylee. Yes you have result in your square function. but remember scope. Variables inside a function are not known outside the function. So you can use a new result variable and set it to the return value from you function call.
So Simply
result = square(5)
but don't pass 5 to square. Make sure to read the instructions for the actual value to pass in.
